Sukkot
The Feast of Tabernacles
Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, is one of the appointed feasts of the Lord found in Scripture. It is a time of celebration, thanksgiving, remembrance, and rejoicing in the presence and provision of God.
In Leviticus 23:33-43, God instructed Israel to observe Sukkot and dwell in temporary shelters as a reminder of how He sustained His people after bringing them out of Egypt. The feast also celebrates God's provision at harvest and calls His people to rejoice before Him.
For Christians, Sukkot also carries powerful themes of God dwelling with His people. John 1:14 declares that the Word became flesh and "dwelt among us," and Revelation 21:3 points toward the ultimate fulfillment: God dwelling with His people forever.
Key Scriptures: Leviticus 23:33-43 • Deuteronomy 16:13-15 • Zechariah 14:16 • John 1:14 • Revelation 21:3
Sukkot reminds us: God provides. God protects. God dwells with His people. Therefore, we rejoice in His presence.
